Default Garrett Turbo

i got a garrett turbo really cheap i was told came off a detroit and this thing is huge but i cant find any info about it ...... I took the compressor housing off and the wheel measures 3 1/8" on the smallest part ...... Is this where i measure to see how big it is? If so then what is that in mm? On the housing it says A/R .75 M-24 b.O. garrett and under garrett it has AB1297 ...... Can anybody tell me what all that means?

I am planning to make my 92 a 2wd pullin truck and really just want to run a big single charger on it. Will this thing be way to big to lite with a ve pump?

If its really a 3 1/8" wheel that is not a big turbo... Thats a HUGE Turbo. You will never light that well enough with a VE truck and its low RPM.

i didnt think id be able to spool it with a ve ....... At the base of it it measures right at 4" ....... After lookin at it again it has some small numbers 2GBR1497 but the R could be another B its kinda worn down and hard to tell.

That's a big single even for a p-pump. That would have to be one hell of a pump.

Translation: I don't have the money (or technical prowess, or both) to do a P-pump conversion.

It's alright though, neither do I.
