From what I read of the article I dont think he used any nitrous. He did have a nice set of compounds on it though. It was a real clean looking truck. One of the few first gens I actually like

I couldn't find the article again,my computer is too slow. Come to think of it,587 doesn't even make sense out of a 12 mm. IDK why I even submitted that.Must have been a misprint. 487 IS possible tho..

I've always wondered if someone could retrofit a set of dual inlet injectors (like the ones Scheid Diesel uses on the triple turbo "12 cylinder P-pump" equipped 6BT they pull with) to pop at VE pressures, then fab on a second VE pump. Twice the fuel, twice the power, right? It would take some hardcore tuning to get everything just right, but VE's are fairly simple to tune; timing and fuel rates are easily altered with the pumps on the truck.

Just another crazy idea from the drawing board of 93_Fummins...
i read something once where a guy found a "reverse" style VE pump that could be driven off of the first VE gear. as for fuel adjustments on the truck... it'd be best to tune the pumps on a flow bench so they are balanced. dual feed lines may be easier to come up with than dual feed injectors. also if you increase the amount of fuel going thru the same size orfice you're going to increase line pressure. and from my reading VE's dont like crazy pressures. you;d basically have to get some new injectors put them in a vice knock the tips off of it; start it on ether and do nothing but pull with it... streetability would be out the window... i'm sure its possible but not sensible... not with out toasting pumps left and right. and i dont think this guy came across that "reverse" style VE very easy... JMO
twins and specialty injectors will put you pretty close to your goal...also upgrade your drivetrain and eliminate as much parasitic losses as possible.

yes i would like to be competitive with the p-pump guys but i know i'll need a p-pump to do that...... i would love to finde a way to crank out 700hp with a VE but don't have that kinde of money like i said before. thats why i will stettle on 400-450, if i get some good overtime in at work this summer, i will get a big stick cam, 6x0.016 injectors, and water meth kit. the s300 is comming soon as i get my taxes back, maby evem twins for the ole girl in 2011

The biggest issue I see if someone would run dual VE's (and why would you?) is the internal timing advance. It would be easy to set teh static timing the same between them but the advance would never advance at the same rate. Too many variables.

I know. In his first post he said he was looking for 450-500, which could be made with stock barrels and plungers in a P-pump. I was sarcastically mocking the change in venue between thinking about a VE then changing his mind to a P-pump....(sigh)....nevermind....the time has passed....
