Need advice on hp upgrades
Extrude hone is a good process, but you are looking at $60-85 per nozzle to get them honed alone, not counting the setup work. I have a set of 6x0.016" I may be willing to part with, just a bit of work done to them. Intercooled nozzles are 7mm shank 6x0.009" and non intercooled nozzles are 9mm shank 4x0.012".
i was looking at get honed's AFM process... slightly expensive but sounds awesome
may look into it down the road... if all goes well in 4 years i plan on having a pretty mean truck... just about as heavy as i can get with the fuel w/o the 14mm head... maybe i'll see you in the 500's
; there are plenty of guys out there that are just as currious as you are... may have to find tires with abit more of a modified tread pattern tho, little less aggresive than tractor tires
once you get that taken care of the truck wont be any different than most other trucks... i dont see why they wouldnt let you on the rollers after that...
Ok I got another ?. I am pulling the ic head from another motor we have and using it on this engine. Is there any thing else that I should upgrad or do while I am swapping this head. I am going to get studs and use a 3rd gen gasket. What about the valve springs? Only going with the 3k rpm gov spring so I won't really see the high rpms to need heavier springs right? Also, the airdog 150 for the VE pump, will it be sufficient if we later swap to a p-pump?
if you get an airdog 150 that is meant for a P-pump and put a regulator on it to cut it down to 15 psi, then when you P-pump it you cna just take the regulator off and let the airdog cut loose...operating pressures for the P pump vs airdog are way different... presures for a p pump will blow the seals out of a VE... if you plan on switching w/o changing airdogs; make sure you get one for a P pump and get a bypass regulator... only gets to the set pressure then dumps the extra back in the tank...

or you can talk with the guys at airdog... i've been hearing more and more that they're making it so you cna adjust the psi, wheter it be with a lock and screw, or springs idk...
