You'll see benefit with the spring. It's stiffer, so it'll theoretically give better throttle response. It also will let you have 600 extra RPM.

Check eBay Motors and Diesel Truck forum classified for HX35's. A ton of guys with second gens take them off to replace them with bigger turbos.

About 250-300... Above that and you're wanting a compressor upgrade, and an exhaust upgrade if you have a manual or 21cm stock.

ahhhhh its more like 160 hp but torque is what you will crank out off the motor. watch your torque numbers jump. on the pump one screw at a time and start geting scared of run away at 3.5 turns. have a board and the intake off the turbo because you may have to kill the motor. buy bhaf you will not be unsatisfied. ride old school

Not sure why this got moved to the bombs forum but the truck is dead now.

I was headed to Billings, MT on 7/14/08 and I blew my left front tire and went off the road and then crashed into a culvert at about 60 mph.

It totally destroyed the front undercarriage... leaf springs, oilpan, transmission, etc.

Not sure what to do. I may have located another first gen that is 2wd though.

I got another one!

'92 regular cab with 89,000 original miles. It's easily just as nice as the last one.

So, back onto bombing it out... BHAF, 366 spring, gauges, 16 cm housing, then I don't know. Not sure how deep into this stuff I want to get. I may just drive it.

have you ever done business with these guys?! Phoenix Hard Parts/Phoenix Remanufactured Transmissions. I've been scammed once by them, first and last time I'll ever do business with them. then I researched them on my hotrod forum, a BUNCH of people on there got ripped off by 'em, too. I ordered a 'built', performance valve body for a 700r-4. 3 months later, after numerous emails and phone calls, getting the runaround, excuses and phone transfers to some other department and getting dropped, calling back with no answer, I disputed the charge and haven't heard a word from them since.

fortunately I paid with a Visa so I was refunded via a disputed charge. do a google search on them and see how many hits come up for ScamAlert and other fraud reporting websites. there are plenty of trusted trans builders/dealers here on DB that are tried-n-true and have GOOD customer service.
