I have wanted to do this myself although I thought about using the aisen 6spd out of the cab and chassis trucks(seems like it would be stronger). All it takes is money, anybody want to sponser...JK

old thread dredging

soooooooooooo I was just thinking this same thing. My buddy just bought an 08 4500 and he was told it had an allison trans in it. I didn't think so and found the build sheet. aisan 6spd of course.

After driving the truck and feeling it shift... and actually accellerate like a diesel should (anything but downshift and rev to the moon) I was thinking I'd want to shove one in my truck since the 6spd manual swap is wayyyy ridiculous.

So anyone done this yet? Trials, tribulations, etc?

Call Suncoast and see where they are at on their conversion package.

Ain't gonna be cheap though.

did you go auto to g56?

I'd much rather have a manual but from my understanding I have to take my whole truck apart (exageration) to make it happen.
