If you have the same set up, nothing will be different. The Smarty should do all the fooling you need. Is boost being measured a the same place on both trucks? Have you seen his truck make 10 psi more? Different gauges?

MORE BOOST IS NOT MORE POWER WITH THE STOCK TURBO!!!!!!!!! the stock turbo's MAP is maxed out at 38psi, any more boost and your over-speeding the turbo and making unnecessary heat, its a waste

You need more AIR not more BOOST!!!!!! boost is a measurement of RESTRICTION, NOT airflow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

boost is just manifold pressure. there are a couple of factors that you should consider- your buddy may push a bit more air to the intercooler, but the drive pressures will eventually trash his turbo. additionally, if his turbo and intercooler are stock, his air charge will be much hotter. I took the boost fooler elbow off and went back to the stock setup, and haven't "barked" the turbo since. want more boost? put a bigger turbocharger on it. then put more fuel through it to spin the turbo. all of the components have to work together to realize a noticable gain.

Smarty does not boost fool. It doesn't even turn off the WG correctly on some trucks so a boost fooler is probably needed,

The HE351CW is quite happy at 35-38 psi and can be taken to 40+ psi with good results. Its biggets problem is dealing with the DP generated by the small housing and the bark on defuel.

If you are making 30 psi and your buddy is making 40 psi then a boost fooler will address that issue. As long as you keep it under 40 psi and don't do a lot of WOT runs and dump the throttle at the end the turbo should perform quite well.
