Default just a question need advice

K so i have an 03 and my dads got an 06 and 04.5. We are both wanting to up our mileage just a bit and were looking at the edge mileage max. so my question is are they worth it and do you see any better mpgs with em? i have run the smarty on my 06 but we both dont need more power right now just want a little better mileage. im currently getting 19mpg highway and 15 towing and hes getting 18 hwy/14 towing. so if the edge is worth it we are gonna do it because with 1-2 mpg increase itll pay for itself in a month or is the smarty jr better?? We dont wanna change trannys or anything right now just want a couple more mpgs thanks for the advice in advance.

I'd stick with the Smarty.

I don't know what's going on, but if you surf the diesel forums there is alot of problems lately with Edge and Cummins.

No start, no restart, and even cutting off while driving/towing on the highway.

Cracked injector tips, cracked injectors, and injectors held open washing the cylinder walls (including making oil).

Some of them have been lucky and simply removing the Edge fixes the problem; one post I saw said the gentleman had recently bought replacement injectors because they were cracked, and had to buy another set less than 3 months later for the same problem.

i had an edge and liked it,

my buddy has a bone stock 07 5.9 3500 and gone through 2 sets of injectors and i spoke with him today and hes ready for two more
i also ran a smarty and it was good too. sometimes i think you just get bad luck or a bad truck the biggest thing is figure out what you want out of the chip and make sure whatever you buy will do.

if you get a chip, it gives you more power if you then stomp on it your milage goes down. if you can drive normally then most chips will improve economy a couple mpgs but not usually much more than that in my expirience
