I am thinking about starting a huge project, let me explain. I know there are lots of trucks that have lots of power and so on so forth. But I am thinking about slapping a 5.9 cr in a 72 Nova. I know major Mods will have to be done so that the frame and suspension can hold the weight, but i think since its easier to build power why not put one in there. Does anyone have any insight on such a project?

Wouldn't a 12-valve Cummins be easier since it's mechanical?

Sure (Buick GN) - IMO best way is buy a wrecked CR & remove entire powertrain (2WD preferred but not required)... you'll need to shorten the driveshaft.
Critical that you score every sensor & entire bus from donor vehicle!

Just throwin this out there, I don't know what you want to do with your project. Would a 4bt work for you. You can make big power out of those, there lighter and you will have more room to work on it.
