I have offsets in mine too. Result of a too much velocity and momentary stupidity. But it was sure fun.

did you ever put your finger on what is giving up on your truck. bending is all i can come up with. what do you do when the offsets are not enough.

i would maybe look into an older dodge that has the lockout hubs in it and see if everything is the same as in ur newer dodge.

I know I bent my axle. Being airborne on stock suspension will do that for you. If offset balljoints won't cut it it is time for a new axle. Or cut the old tubes out and install new ones.

As cheap as Dodge D60s are I think that way is better.

If it works for you...good luck... but you wont find this procedure being done in my shop anytime soon.

Oh yea....and if my logic wasnt true...your rear differential would be packed full of axle grease

Again, what's in the hub to begin with...grease. If your logic was even remotely close to true, then false ABS readings would happen with the factory fill of grease. So explain why that doesn't happen? Grease is grease, you even stated that in this very post.

The rear diff needs fluid because the fluid is pumped (via the ring gear) across the pinion bearings to lubricate and remove heat...can't pump grease that easy, different (and wrong) application. Further, I've pulled ABS sensors from rear diffs that had metallic fuzz on them (they are magnetic)...those sensors still worked fine. So how does the metallic bits in the grease affect the sensor again??

I'm done here...its not worth me arguing the point.

Have a nice day.

So glad it's a free country

One other question, How do you propose getting enough grease in the hub with enough pressure to actually "pack" the bearings are you using a fitting?
