Possibly, but I know that I will also want a tune set up for when I'm towing my 10k trailer around and one for all out to put people in there place when needed and one for when my Mom borrows the truck (Mom + 500+ hp = super scary!)...

Technically you cannot adjust the smarty on the fly. You can adjust the power level you are in down and back up that's why its called power on demand. If you are in catcher setting number 5 90HP its 90HP on setting 99 on the POD and the lower you go numbers wise on the POD thats less horsepower. But you cannot change true power levels for example you cannot change from setting 3 to setting 5 on the fly.

If you don't have gauges yet I would suggest spending the money on those first.

yea i can understand were you are coming from with that but really, if you needed when u hook a trailer up you can just plug the smarty in and reprogram the truck to wat you want but yes the edge is alot easier because of just being able to push a button but the edge is limited to only a few settings compared to alot wider range and power you can get with the smarty, but its all in wat the person needs/wants there is gonna be a good amount of pros and cons to both programmers

ya the gauges are a must, gettin those right away, but i see what your saying about not being able to fully adjust the settings on the smarty, i here how the smartys are great but they dont have all the options the edge has, im still kinda stuck in the middle, if i get the edge i wont need gauges but does the edge come with the stuff to hook up the egt sensor and all that or will i need to buy that?

Yes they do come with all the stuff. But personally the smarty is the best programmer for the 5.9L CR engines. And have more setting than the edge but none of the safety parameters of the edge like defueling ect.

ha, ya, its such a hard choice, i might end up going with the smarty and getting a set of gauges ( egt, boost, fuel press) and eventualy a trans build when this one craps out, so i cant beat on it too much
