Default Airaid filters

So I have been reading some threads on Cold Air Intake Filters (dry vs oiled) and I started wondering about my Airaid filter. I used the search function but was unable to find much on Airaid Filters. I have the MXP series (which has the box w/ hood seal and down tube to act as a half air scoop?) and I was wondering what everyone thinks of Airaid? I don't want this to become a K&N bashing session but I have read a lot about how they suck in oil & dirt & are junk. I wanted to know if anyone has ever had this type of problem with an Airaid and what they think of them? If so, what filter should I switch to if I should decide to change em up? The only reason i'm asking this is because I just had a brand new motor replaced in my truck under warranty (had the CA intake on when I had it done, dealer said that having an intake is no issue) and after reading multiple threads on bad filters & filters allowing junk to get by I'm kinda getting nervous about my Airaid now. Just don't want to relive what I went through having my engine blow up & then have to get this one replaced!!! Any advice or experience would be great! Thanks

Ive ran several Airaid Intakes without an issues. They make a good filter in my opinion.

Agreed, big fan of Airaid, despite it not being the most popular ones you hear about all the time

I figured I would be safe with it but you never know!? Its always good to get some opinions. Maybe its a good thing we never hear a lot about Airaid. It must mean they are a solid company & make a good product because when you start to hear people say what ridiculous improvements like "it increased fuel 5-6MPG & gave me 25HP", is when all the bashers come out! The only thing i'm concerned about when it comes to CAIs is 1) They need to filter air better than stock & 2) allow more, cooler air flow. I dont think my Airaid had anything to do with my engine problems (& neither did the dealership) but makes me wonder, what if!? Im going to stick with it though!
