as said above. I could trash anyones stock tranny drivining like a retard. But if you drive it with some respect than Smarty jr on tow tune wont hurt anything

Thats like saying it takes 1000 licks to get to the center of a tootsie pop and everybody is gonna do it that way. It may correct, it may true, it AIN'T gonna happen.

Just about everybody tows on the 60 HP tune and THAT will get a stock trans towing, maybe not empty if you can restrain yourslef but towing it will. The OE trans is shift managed and TQ managed to live at stock power an stock power ONLY. A Smarty removes a lot of the safeguards and ups the power, it immediately starts working at the direct clutches and the TC lockup clutch.

It may last a while but for the costs involved in the upgrades as opposed to a full rebuild, I could not - would not recommend using a tuner without the minimal fixes. Been there, done that, got the billet pieces to prove it.
