what is wrong with connecting the filter directly to the turbo?

off the line i can see heat being the only issue but once you are rolling there would be plenty of airflow.

I have the AFE stg2 with the proguard filter and it screams, its the one with the bigger tube and filter my buddies 06 has the smaller tube stage 2 and its not as loud.
Just pulled the filter today to clean it, it was absolutly filthy on the outside but clean as new on the inside.

I love my aem bruteforce. It comes with the dryflow filter which is nice. And the polished metal tube is nice also. I like the cheap filters from altozone, I know they prob don't filter perfect and last long but I clean it about every week and buy a new one often. It sounds very loud over the stock filter.

Here is a way to make your turbo talk - the pipe that is straight (right before the 90 degree turn to the turbo) is 5 inches in diameter. It really is restrictive and if you go to a good hardware store you can get a section of PVC pipe in 5 inch diameter (kinda hard to come by but my hardware store had some) and cut it to 11 inch length. Put it in place of the restrictor plate pipe and your turbo will walk the dog. Just don't overtighten the clamps and it works perfectly for about 2 dollars. And it is not annoying on trips either.
