cummins turbo question

Just wondering if anyone has any info about putting a turbo from a 8.3 onto a 5.9. will this work and will it hurt performance or help. Truck is an 04 and stock except for exhaust. Please help. Thanks

It "should" be an HX-40 .... I would inspect the turbo first and make sure it's not oversized for the larger engine.
