"i talked to a rep from aem at a local show and another hint he gave me for cleaning them is just put it in a dishwasher. he also told me there cleaning kit is glorified simple green."
So you can clean a dry filter with water?

If it was me, I would throw in the Amsoil 4510 like most people are using. You can clean the amsoil filter with water, if you really want to get it clean, the only problem with that is you have to wait almost a full day for it to dry, so I hope you don't have to drive anywhere. If it was me, and I didn't want to spend more money on a bigger filter, I would find an outerwears prefilter that would fit it to cut down on the dirt. I can tell you that the AEM isn't going to do any better of a job filtering than the Amsoil does, and I believe the AEM filter costs more than even the 4510 filter, which is BIGGER than the AEM filter.
