Well I had a cone filter and it was junk as well. I have had plenty of them before and I still run one on my drag car......no issues with any K&N until I put it on a boosted motor. That is my experience with them. On a N/A motor I have no issue with them but if you are making your own atmosphere I will never run one again on that motor.

The Cone K&N let alot of dirt into my dads 05 and it as well is in very dusty conditions. So we put an S&B on it and there is a huge difference the S&B has not let any dirt in at all yet like the K&N did. S&B or BHAF is going on my truck after seeing what the K&N let in my dads i will not run one.

I'll only run a dry filter after seeing all the gunk the oiled ones let in any motor.

The best filters pull air from the outside and are sealed under the hood.
Agreed 100%. My truck is bone stock, with the exception of guages, a missing silencer ring and a straight pipe. I put an amsoil EA drop in filter in my truck, and it does GREAT. I can feel a bit of a difference from the old dirty one, that's for sure. I, like everyone else, will tell you to STAY AWAY from k&n filters for our trucks.

id definately go against k&n i heard alot of bad about them allowing dirt into the turbo seals. hold a newly recharged K&N upto the sunlight you'll see what i mean.

I love the AEM filters, and have one on my 12V (dropped EGTs 50* compared to K&N), but they aren't a sealed box. That's why I'm going with an S&B then getting an AEM for it when the filter needs to be changed.
