Default clutch and tranny help

ok i am looking to buy a performance transmission and clutch this month and i want to know what the best transmission and clutch for a 6 speed there is. This is also my daily driver and i do pull trailers so i need it to be able to handle all my performance setups and the strain of when i pull a trailer with a load.

I dont know of anyone that sells a performance 6 speed trans. but if you get with Tony from Mighty Diesel he can help you out with a clutch. Gave me a hell of a deal on my Valair DD and so far I love it.

For the clutch, Val Air all the way. I love mine. It lasted a little over 60,000 miles, with quite a few line lock, 30 psi of boost launches. Val Air rebuilt it for me (along with even stiffer spings) on the cheap so Im more than happy with it. Shifts faster than my SB did, and hasnt blown up and cost me a tranny like SB, and Ive abused the hell out of it. Look them up online, they are in either Weatherford or Mineral Wells. Real cool people to deal with.

For a better 6-speed, Im in the same boat as you. Im about to see if I can find a bellhousing that will work with my Lenco. This G65 doesnt like full throttle shifts with a good clutch.

Tried SB. Blew up and cost me a tranny at about 800 miles. VA lack of life was me chosing the most agressive compound frictions, knowing they had a short life. That and the fact that I hate using my brakes at a stop light. I will hold the truck at the light with the clutch. And of course, dragging the clutch sitting at the tree, line locked, in 3rd, on the rev limiter, 30+psi of boost showing waiting for the other lane to stage so we can get going. Even took it when I took the rear brakes off so I could clear a set of 15" rims with 31x13 slicks. 12psi, tubes, rimscrews, traction compound, the whole lot. My gas car buddies wanted to see what it would do with all the little helpers. Im rough on my truck.

As for a performance transmission, just overfill it with Amsoil and thats as performance as it gets. On the clutch front, you won't find a clutch box in the shop that doesn't say South Bend. . . . . . .
