black smoke..
I have got a 2004 not 4.5 5.9 cummins with a AFE stage 2 air intake, ats exhaust manifold, edge juice chip, banks high ram intake, and 5in stacks, and i get a little bit of smoke but i would like to have clouds but not screw up the truck. some one said that i should just put a litre of oil in my fuel tank every other time i fill up to lubricate dodges bad fuel pumps and to get thick black clouds. Any suggestions other than that??

Smarty, injectors, Airdog or FASS. That should make it smoke pretty good. Does your Edge have the attitude monitor? If not get a good pyrometer.

One more thing... If all your trying to go for is smoke, your going to get alot of criticism because alot of people (including me) don't want to see the gov't put more restrictions on us (diesels) because of people who just use diesels to throw smoke clouds everywhere. But we as a community will help you get the smoke and do what you want but please please don't be immature and smoke out every street because its just hurting the entire diesel community....

Whoever told you that is full of crap....do NOT do that..oil does not help and it's bad for your engine, unless you're referring to TCW-3 2-stroke ashless motor oil, in which case you only run a 1:200-1:100 ratio...but that will NOT give you smoke, that's for longevity and lubrication purposes. To get smoke you need a ton of fuel...injectors are the way to go...no matter what truck you drive, it takes more than just a big tune to get smoke; you need to shove more fuel in there, injectors or additional fuel pump.

The fuel pump will help but without the injectors it really won't help too much. Basically with an upgraded pump, you'll have the fuel for big power but you won't have the delivery unless your running bigger injectors... But if your really planning on turning up the fuel, it would be wise to price out a nice turbo to keep your egts down.
