Really the only negative to me is stopping distance with a heavy load. When I had a exhaust brake on it wasn't a issue. And really it isn't a issue without the exhuast brake as long as your trailer brakes are in good working order.
just curious here, but how is stopping distance affected by the larger wheels? as in, it takes noticeably longer to slow down with the 22½'s? Why?

Wheels and tires are a lot heavier.
