Default Your opinion on 5 inch stainless exhaust

I am starting to plan ahead on a few mods and starting to research options.

Requirements; 5 inch turbo back stainless steel single side w/muffler.

Question is; Do you have any experience or opinions on which exhaust systems are best quality, best value, best fitment, noise level, sound quality, etc...

Just from the initial search the Magnaflow turbo back stainless looks to about what I want. I notice mbrp and silverline seem to be very popular also.

Thanks in advance

I don't have any experience with any of the ones you are looking at. I just straight piped mine with 4" exhaust pipe. I'm sure someone will jump in here with some info for ya. I know the mbrp is popular.

The 400 series stainless will rust.
The 300 series will not rust.

Thanks guys.
Right now I am running a 4" Nelson straight thru muffler and cat is gone but it is starting to rattle a little bit. I think something might be loose inside the muffler. rather than repair it I really would like an upgrade to 5 inch. I am thinking it would help a little with the egt's towing up long mountain passes.

Magnaflow is about the only company that has a 5" SS Exhaust System. Let me know if you would like a price quote.

If you live where they use salt on the roads
make sure you get a 300 series. I bought
mine from Banks, 409 stainless. rusted now.

I'll be honest I am not ready to buy it immediately but sometime real soon.
If you send me a price I would appreciate it but won't hold you to it later if things change.
Any thoughts on it actually helping with anything to upsize to 5 inch?
I feel it might help egts a little but don't expect much. Later down the road if I go Twins it might be nice.

Thanks for the tip; I put a 409 ss banks on my girlfriends Super Duty and think it would be alright for my needs. Is yours deep rust or surface rust? I'm not to worried about looks to much just long lasting durabilty.

They sound good. I had mbrp 5" before Duals and it sounded good. Just a little loud for me. And I think I lost a little low end with the 5". Happy hunting.

there is a point where bigger isnt necessarly better. While engine testing indicates that going from 3-1/2" to 4" can reduce backpressure by as much as 98%, ther can be less than 2% reduction above 4" exhaust. SO while a 5 or 6" exhaust looks cool it wont give you much more than just a coolness factor
