Default K&N Cleaning Kit

Does anyone know if the K&N filter cleaning kit will work with the AFE filters?

Would like to know myself...I have a AFE stage 1 that's needing cleaning, I was thinking about using Simply Green spray.

I've been using a K&N cleaner since day one, on my aFe.
It's what I had left, from the previous truck.

I'm sure there is a reason not too, but it works fine.

It'll void your warranty
I really don't see what difference it would make. They are both basicly the same thing aren't they. I have only had the AFE

The cleaning kits are compatible.
However the individual manufacturers would like you to
believe that theirs is the only one that will work properly.

Using one on the other will change the factory colouring though.
Keep this in mind if you are fussy about stuff like that.
Other than that, you're good to go.

AFE finally called and said the K&N cleaner kit is ok to use. They said to use the oil sparingly and make sure it drys completely before re-installing!
