Take a look at your injector lines hold-down clamps, especially the #4 injector line. If its loose or comes loose, it makes an irritating ticking sound. Mine did that and I found that my #4 injector line clamp was a bit loose. I tightened it and the tick went away. Make sure you check all of them though. My dad's 06 CTD also did the same thing. Also #4 line clamp. Checked it and it was tight but the blue plastic holders were worn i guess b/c the blue plastic line-holder was jiggling around. I used a small piece of 1/4" nylon hose (cut to the same width of the holder) and split it down the middle end to end. I then slipped it on the injector line and placed the blue plastic holder over the piece of nylon hose. I then added loc-tite on the threads of the clamp bolt, tightened the clamp and it held securely. The tick went away. That was almost 3 years ago. Still no tick. Just tossing it out there bro.

Sence that day its not made the tick noise but I will check that stuff out just to make sure it dont happen. No, no smoke fuel mpg seems to be the same, only thing I did was turn my chip up but like I said noise is now gone. I run banks six gun just put it on level 5 from my understanding this should make it deliver more fuel from banks tech it should be an extra 100hp at this point. so will see if the noise comes back or if it just wanted to make a little morning noise last Friday thanks for your help and inforemation to keep my eye on
