....so i'm a SOB for paying my dues to this site and pushing my product? Is this or is this not the "performance" forum?

Now if you want to further talk about actual tuning as in pilot main and post injection events duration timing and rail pressure and their effects on an engine then I am open to that debate.

If you want to continue to slander me for pushing my tuning then I will be in Indy next weekend running my truck not my mouth we can have that debate there.

Now that there sounds like a right smart diesel tuner dude, by golly!

Or a great feature to sell an insanely overpriced programmer.

Personally, I'd rather leave that to the experts, just drive on a "do-it-all" tune and spend the money on fuel .
Not sure how I missed the rest of this thread....however.....

I wouldn't be sitting there waiting for the flash to apply. My CTS monitor will be able to load 5 tunes with the csp5 (dsp5 for cummins guys).

Also I do like to tinker yes. The average joe might not.

With efi live, I can work off of my stock ecm tables and build a tune that smooths out stock programming, increase power and economy while sacrificing nothing. Every ecm is different. A generic box tuner cannot account for that.

A generic box tuner cannot account for specific modifications I have made to the truck. Efi Live can.

Yes it is more money, but it has more versatility. Look at any Edge tuner, Banks tuner or Bully Dog. They are only a couple hundred cheaper, with much much less capabilities.

On the other hand, you can get a Zeus standalone system for $3-5000, and have absolute control of everything.

It may be personal preference, it may be about price.....but the only reason Efi Live doesn't sell more tuners than they do is because they are not advertising like all the others and are not in every so called "Diesel Performance Shop". The sheeple walk into these places and buy a Superchips, Bully Dog, or Banks units because they do not know any better because they do not do any research.

My Smarty Jr. does that too. I've only used it to flash the truck three times in three years. Once to up the power level and once to up the level one last time with a code update.

Maybe I'm just an "average Joe?"

No, I think not. I spent all day yesterday rebuilding my valve body with a Transgo SK 48-RE shift kit. Best bang for the buck ever: $70. I don't have alot of time (or money) to fart around, so when I do, I try to make it count. Fiddling around with tunes is a waste if time. For me, at least.

For those with time and money....efi live is a superior product. There is a reason Smarty made the UDC.....cause it can do so much more than the Jr or S06 PoD.

You obviously have never been in an EFI tuned vehicle or know anything about the software. The biggest advantage to me is datalogging. I have had an edge juice with attitude and a smarty s06 on my truck and used them for quite a while. I got tired if flashing a number into the truck 1-9 and not knowing how the truck is responding, let alone what the box tuner is telling the ecm to do. Full EFI software is not for everyone. The support that us efi customers receive from efi and other users is top notch.

To me, that means so much more time wasting. ...and money spent time wasting.

If you think a few horsepower here or some useless data there is worth the money, by all means, go for it.

It's just another example of the marketing machine raking in your heard-earned dollars.
