Well i had to do some work on my exhaust a week or 2 ago and had the opportunity to gut the cat but i didnot. I figured when my warranty is up i will probably do it then. And my 92' with the stack is loud enough for the both of 'em. Thanks for all the help.

... Well sure, but that's the whole idea behind gutting it. Short of disassembling from the truck completely, there's no way an inspector could tell visually

not a diesel, but i gut my cat(s). actually instead of cutting it and welding it back in i dropped a section of exhuast where i could unbolt it and just beat the hell out of it with a tire iron and a hammer. no chunks came out when i started it but a good amount of dust came out.

and soon the whole united states are going to have emissions tests? florida doesnt have it, and i sure as hell hope it doesnt come back soon!

I know that Maganflow makes a very nice Diesel Spun Converter. Ive seen it on there website. But from what I understand it depends on the area where you live if its legal or not legal to have a cat. Ive known a few people that have gotten busted for not having there cats but thats Cali for ya.

you can gut em out if you want but careful of the toxic **** that will kill ya and why not just cut it off put a straight pipe in with clamps and connectors so if anyone messes with ya just swap it out and put the kitty back in the box......on inspection sticker terms uhmmm i wouldnt do much to your truck if you dont have a few buddies that can do stickers for ya the horror shows ive heard of people doing all this stuff and gettin rejected and not being able to get a sticker freakin bozoo the clowns man find some friends meet some people then you wont have a problem gettin any sticker!

I Was going to gut my cat, I was dead set on it. I don't have a welder so my buddy and I were just going to un clamp everything pull it apart gut it and put it bad together. we got all of the clamps off and were yanking away but it wasn't budging. So my buddy also drive a cummins 2500 so I was like hey hook that chain to the back of your truck and to my exhaust and give her a tug! Lol Still didn't come apart! I ended up cutting it out and having a shop weld in a 4in pipe. Anyways thats my story I guess the point Im trying to get at is just save yourself the trouble and run a straight pipe .
