Default Boost Fooler Adjustable Elbow ?

I got a new adjustable elbow for the boost fooler portion of the Comp now I'm tryin to figure out the easiest way to get it set right. Seems like a long drawn out affair to set it by driving it and havin to stop and adjust it every time until you finally get it right.

I'm ponderin the idea of just usin my boost pressure leak detector gadget to set it but want to make sure it will work. Can I just set the air compressor to say 35 psi and pessurize the system then back the set screw out until it flows air. 35 psi is what I'm wanting the gate to open at. or am I way off base here.

The next question is, do I need to worry about this scew coming lose over time or or do they stay put pretty well one they are set.

Not the answer your looking for but I am sure someone will chime in..

An adjustable wastegate will do a better job, prevent wastegate creep and are much easier to set, more money but more effective in the end.

My 2 cents

Thanks Dave, I'm always lookin for new answersand way's to do things. I never do anything the easy or normal way. Just never thought about the waste gate route cause the Comp came with the elbow. Theirs just has a small hole in it though so no adjustment needed.

My simple mind likes to keep it simple, the easy way... my wallet and my mind do not get along very well though... LOL

So is this new wastegate a simple install then and what are the adjustable limits of it. From what psi to what psi.

I am not sure how low it goes but it is the same adjustable wastegate that we include with our twins kits, I have seen over 70PSI.

Check em out here... BD Boost Builders

Easiest way to set an adjustable elbow is with a regulated air source.

Simply set the regulator for the cracking pressure you want. Then open or close the set screw until the gate begins to move. You'll get pretty close. I would set the cracking pressure a few psi below what you want for total boost.
