tuners

If you are not concerned about shifting on the fly then I would go with the Smarty. Since you are going to be running a 351ve, it would make it a little easier when tuning your controller. One less thing to try and map out. With the Smarty you pick you settings that you want, load it, and go.

I have both the Smarty and MVP. They are both 65hp boxes give or take. For the $$ the MVP cant be beat.
My major gripe with the MVP is that it comes on at 7psi. The dial control, imo and testing, determines how strong it comes on.
Coming on at 7psi can be a MAJOR nuisance. Just watch how often your boost gauge fluctuates in normal driving. Yeah well, 7psi to Kung Fu in a blink because you hit a head wind all of a sudden is not fun.
Especially while towing or hitting a 90 degree sweeper while on cruise control. The MVP turned up and cruise control was a no go for me.
The Smarty fuels off idle. The different settings determine just how aggressive the throttle is.
I have the Revo and have monkeyed around with the settings, but in the end I have it left on just plain 9.
For me with a 6 speed the Smarty has been great. It lets me wind out shifts if need be to 3k. Pulling out to pass someone in 5th with a skidsteer and mini hoe en tow with authority is awesome.
I am partial to the Smarty because I have been in it since the MAD ECM days. Which, imo, was stronger and a lot more raw than what the current Smarty is. They both Dyno the same tho...
So, in my opinion, you cant go wrong with either. If you have an auto though, I have read where the Smarty and auto's dont play well due to surging issues.
Here are some dyno sheets. As you can see they both are similar in power and curves.
Smarty
MVP and MVP/Smarty #8 Stack
The red box is what I feel is the adjustability of how the power comes on at 7psi for the MVP and the difference between the Smarty and MVP.
Good luck. They are the 2 best non wire tap boxes, imo.
