Chips And Programmer Need Opinions.
Hey guys,
Well I would like to buy a chip or programmer, more likely a chip so I can change setting on the fly. I dont want 500 horse outta my truck just something to give it extra confidence when needed and when not I can switch to fuel economy. But there SO MANY!!!!! I have friends with edge, bull dog and smartys. they all say there great and claim the others suck...
So Im stuck, I was looking at an Edge Ezvo seemed intreasting, and is the same price as the max milage. any oppinions and advice greatly appreciated...

The Edge EZ is a good basic programmer. Since you already have gauges, I would get the Edge Comp to save some money over the Juice. When you are looking at tuning dont get stuck on the Mileage tunes. I see my best MPGs with my Edge on level 4 or 5. The 24v's need alot more fuel to get to that happy spot of just enough HP to counter the 8k pound curb weight. I have 50hp injectors and on level 5 I can see 20+ mpgs depending on if someone decides to **** me off haha.

Ya, What kind of Injectors do you have? my other concern is if I get to crazy, my tranny wont hold? I have an Auto, I know there some good 47RE out there I think mine is one of them, but I dont want to start having transmisson issues at this time.. Plus I get 22 MPG right now on the long hauls and 20-18 when I mess around on the ranch and in town..

Dynomite Diesel 50hp. Are you going off the overhead or hand calculated? Remember the Dodge overheads are notorious for lying haha. The trans could be an issue but if you are looking for a little more power then you will have to address that sooner or later. Starting off with just a good valve body would be a good for it. Then later a better torque converter. Aslong as you dont leave a programmer on its highest setting 24/7 and dont drive your truck like you stole it everywhere you go, the trans should be able to handle the occasional jump in power.
