Well, just got my HE351 swap in with the 3rd gen manifold, now it sure does sound like a common rail, anyway heres a pic

 

Nice, the exhaust manifold dictates a lot of the sound. So it will definitely sound more like a 3rd gen now.

 

how much of an upgrade is that compared to the hx35? what year cr did that turbo come on?

 

I'm being told its the equivalent of an hx 40 or 45, the he341 came on 03-04 and the one I have is an he351 that came on 04.5 and up but the newer ones are variable vain

 

I'm currently doing a he351 swap on my 2000 24v. What size intercooler boot did you use for the charge pipe to intercooler? Also what boot for the turbo to charge pipe? I can't find the answer anywhere! Thanks, can't find if it's a 3"-3" or 3"-3.5"
