Default Turbocharger Suggestions?

So, I may know a crap load about misc Ram repair from doing my own and even more about the 47RE for the same reason HOWEVER I know less then SQUAT about turbocharger selection.

I dont know how much power I am making now but its nothing to scoff at. I can slaughter most of my friends trucks and every little rice box that has challenged. (No i dont hate imports, i had a 320hp AWD Laser RS)

My DREAM goal is 600hp but i want to break 500 for sure.

What will it take?

What should i be looking at for now?

Is 45 psi obtainable off an affordable single turbo? (I would have HX/S400 twins but the trans build killed the budget to NIL)

There are a TON of dirt cheap chinese turbos on Ebay... I would love to give one a shot. I just dont know what to look for?

They have HX40, HX52, T72, and so on...

Anyone care to help me out? I have a plasma cutter, welder, and various machines at work (mill, plasma robot, laser robot, etc) if i need to make a flange but staying with stock would be awesome... I have an ATS manifold i read its a t3 flange (stock turbo on there now)

Learn me!!

if you want to go over 500hp and eventually hit 600 then you need to start with a 62 for a single till you can add a 475 to the bottom. With a 62 and some 150's you will be at 500hp add the 475 and some 240's 600. This was with an edge drag comp. Oh yeah if you want the power and don't have a billet output shaft you need one or you can't launch it.

I have 135s and an ADR w/ Pulse so a 62 will do pretty decent with that for now?

So... what IS a 62? Explain that in imbosile language. LoL!

I don't have a billet out but at the point I get up there I will tear her down and go billet intermediate and out also add full steel gears.

62mm = compressor wheel... so you might see a 62/68/14 which would be 62mm compressor, 68mm exhaust turbine, and 14cm exhaust housing.

Are planning on making compounds or think you'll stick to a single?

with a comp jammer 5s (150s) and a 62/65/13ss a buddy of mine did 508/1100 on 35" tires on a dynojet, he even tows with that setup

if it were me tho i would do a 64/68/14cm

if your on a tight budget there is a 63/68/.88T4 non gated charger might be a little laggy on a vp truck tho

i wouldnt go over a 35/40 hybrid in a holset charger because they start getting laggy after that and you can get a better charger on the S300 frame at that point

62mm would be the compressor inducer size. More or less how big the turbo is. When you see sizes, 62/71/16, it will have a 62mm compressor, 71mm turbine, and a 16cm exhaust housing. This is a great picture I found a while back, and modified it to show the size of my wheels.

Thanks guys!

So you look at the smaller number for sizes... inducer on compressor and exducer on turbine??

So with that said THIS one is too small for example...
