Default Edge comp cold weather problems

The last few nights have been really cold here with low reaching -32* C or -24*F and when i go and start my truck in the morning to let it warm up I notice my Edge comp box doesn't light up. If I hit the power button nothing happens it does not turn on. I have noticed that if i turn the truck off then back on the comp box turns on again and works fine.

Is this something to be concerned about has anyone else experienced this?

I learned in my electrical engineering class that as temps decrease that resistance decreases in resistors as well I wonder if this plays a factor.

Any input is greatly appreciated

mine did the same thing. I don't think they like the cold. I was going to start taking mine in the house with me. The way I get it to work is going down the road turn truck off then back on real quick it works just fine then

yeah don't unplug it when it's on it does that. Some take a couple key cycles and it will clear... been there done that.

If your running a cs or cts it will not power up in cold weather. This is one of the safety features built in for reliability, once your vehicle starts warming up the cab it will power up on its own once a predetermined temperature is reached.

Good to know! I was concerned with mine last winter when it wouldnt light up in the morning. I always had to cycle my key a couple times. Problem went away as soon as spring arrived.
