i have 7 inch on 5 inch exhaust but the tip itself is like 3 feet long so that makes it look better... it doesn't look like a fart cannon

Im running a 4" MBRP straight pipe from the turbo back with a 5'' tip, looks great and sounds awesome. I personally like the sound of the 4" vs 5", but hey, everyone is different!

I have 4 inch straight pipe to 6 inch tip sounds good. I would also remove silencer ring for that awesome turbo whistle

My first 24v had a full 5inch straight kit with 6"tip loved it. My current 24v Has 4 inch straight with a 3 foot 5" tip basically a stack welded out the back fit ok because I have a flat bed. It has way more drone than my 5" kit ever had guessing it's because of the tip. But overall loved the sound of my 5" to 8" stack I made on my last truck.

I switched from a 5 inch tip up to a 6 inch tip. What a difference that made. Made it sound 10x's better. The six inch tip is also twice as long as the 5 inch was so that is probably the reason

I changed mine from 4 with a 5in tip to 5 with a 6in tip. It sounds alot netter in my opinion only complaint I have with is it is I lost alot of low end torque because of no back pressure with the 5in all the way.
