Sometimes when i start my truck it acts like clutch is engaged an tries to take off. But others it dont. AN also sometimes its all i can do to get it into gear. Is it almost clutch time, or maybe like a slave cylinder or something?

 

Sounds like the slave, when your clutch is bad it will slip

 

i agree with tiremann that sounds like a slave cylinder

 

I had similar problems with my clutch. Come to find out the pilot bushing had gone bad and was seizing to the trans input shaft. Found that when 5th gear fell off.

 

do u have to pull the trans to install slave cylinder

 

noo you do not have to pull the trans

 

slave cylinder just bolts right up to the tranny bell housing just two bolts and the line if i remember right
