Default industrial turbo applications?

alright i will prolly get flamed for this but ive been searching for a while but cant come up with what i wanted..

I know that heavy equipment used turbos similar to whats in our dodges so my question is what, if any heavy equipment applications used turbos that i could use on my truck?

i know that the gm topkick trucks and cat c7's use s300 turbos, i have seen one on a 3406 cat too. most of the heavy equipment that i work on seem to have very small turbos on them for the size of the engine. for instance the cat 924g loader that i just swapped engines in had a borgwarner turbo on it but it was tinny! 6 cylinder perkins with a vp44 injection pump but the turbo was way too small for a street driven truck. hope this helps clear up some confusion

the turbos always seem small of them to me too but i learned that most turbos used in equipment dont need to be cause the usual operating range for them is 500-2000 rpm and arent made to handle engines rapping to 3000 grand or are made to spoon very quickly because they dont have the drive pressures that others do someone told me once that heavy equipment turbos arent built as strong as the turbos used in automotive applications this is all just what ive heard talking to diesel mechanics but thought i could shed some light on the subject

exactly! they do seem kinda weak, and the oporating range is what you say so they have to spool quick and be done by 2k rpm, not spool at around 1500 and go to 3300, but like i said some of the semi diesels in the smaller ones have s300's that work great for our trucks. one of them has a s362 in it which is a 62mm inducer but i can't remember what takes it. will have to look it up again.
