I ran a 62/475 combo and it clears just fine. if you have any issues I think I have some pics. But thats a steal of a price as the chargers alone are worth it depending on what 62 it is. If your interested I might be taking off the ats for a stocker and cash. I would also change springs out if doing this. Been there before. No way could I let my setup go for what he is.

That's why I'm jumping on it. He was trying to sell his truck as a whole and I just kinda threw it out there that I'd buy the twins, and here we are...

Ok, so it's confirmed that the cooler has to come out. Bottom charger does not fit. So just out of curiosity, will the trans overheat if you're sitting in traffic in drive for an extended time? I would think that the coolant would really help in that situation for keeping the trans cool. It looks like what I'm gonna do is cut the 2 trans lines going to that cooler, down along side the driver side of the trans. This way there's not useless lines running down under the trans and up to where the cooler used to be. The 2 lines come really close to each other along side the trans, so I'll cut em there, flare em, and connect em with a rubber hose and clamps. What is the best way to delete the antifreeze lines? Just leave the lines go to where the cooler was and do a loop of hose connecting them? It would be a lot nicer just to take the line off the block and put a plug into the block. But... The other line needs to be deleted too and the connection to the water pump area I'm pretty sure has no threads so... Also, it looks like I need to move one of the lines going to the heater core because it comes up right behind the small turbo's exhaust outlet. Anyone else have that problem? Oh yeah not to mention extend the downpipe 8" to meet my exhaust system... It's gonna be a busy day.

Now that I'm reading into it more, it looks like it'll run cooler without the heat exchanger. Unfortunately it's not going to get the extra heating assistance in the winter without the exchanger on. It can get cold here in Pa. It's ok tho I'll deal with it.

I'm in Alberta, Canada and running just the cooler. I let the truck have about 10 minutes of run time on cold days before I get moving. I also have to drive through a few blocks of residential before I can hit the hiway, so it does get time to circulate around. Remember, ATF is much thinner then engine oil at cold temperatures. I have noticed that without the heat exchanger my trans definitely runs cooler. As for the traffic situation, bump it into neutral and idle up to about 1200. That will get some air flowing across your cooler. If your really concerned about it, or just like the peace of mind it offers, put a fan on your cooler or a aftermarket cooler with fan. I plan to add something similar one day, maybe a B&M.

As for removing the coolant lines for the heat exchanger, I put a plug in the port for the top hose. The bottom received a piece of hose with a plug and hose clamp.

I reused the tube for the heater core as well, it just went under the manifold instead of on top of it. It's not as secure as I wasn't able to utilize the strap and bolt that was used before. I zip tied it in a few places to prevent vibration and rubbing.

It will be a busy day, maybe even two. I spent 17 hours doing mine, and that includes one emergency trip into town for more tubing.

I had bypassed the heat exchanger 2 years before going to compounds. the trans runs cooler than with it, and I didn't notice much difference in warm up time. one thing you will notice is when bypassing the heat exchanger you loose the check ball so you wont be able to fire the truck up and put in gear and go. But I always warm mine up first as well. If ca smog laws were not such a pain I would of left them on.

I would look into getting a three piece manifold. The factory ones are really restrictive but other than that if they are in good shape they would be a great twin kit

Can't get the oil filter to fit... It's too long, hitting the oil return line. Can you run a smaller filter?

I never had a problem with my oil filter not fitting. I'm not too sure what you are up to.
