Default ATS Co-Pilot or TS Performance TC Lockup

I'm having trans done and builder recommended using ATS co-pilot to control converter lockup. Been looking around and also noticed TS Performance controller. Anyone use these products or any others that control torque converter lockup based on speed. Need some input and opinions looks like TS controller does the same thing for less money?

Thanks

Do what i did. Go to the store and get a nice NON LIT switch and install it! Control it yourself! For like 5$ you can have a TCC lock up.

STOLEN FROM THE NET ----
Middle harness. Orange wire w/black tracer (might be a navy blue).

Torque Converter Lockup Switch
for 1996 - 2003 Ram Diesels
(except California vehicles)
The addition and use of a torque converter lockup switch can improve 0 to 60 mph times by 3-5 seconds, improve your ability to stay in higher gear when pulling heavy loads, and improves braking in 3rd and 4th gears when using an exhaust brake. The following diagram is supplied at no cost or obligation. Note that use of this method of lockup may be hard on vehicle drivetrain and may void vehicle drivetrain warranty. Use makes vehicle drive like a manual transmission in 4th gear such that vehicle may/will stall at low speeds/stops if lockup is not disconnected.
Note: Some 1996 automatics require computer to be reflashed by dealer for the lockup switch to work.
Step-by-step Instructions:
1. Install jumper wire in place of the trans relay in the Power Distribution Center (black box behind driver side battery) as shown in diagram below. This jumper wire will supply 12 volt positive to the transmission torque converter clutch solenoid. This jumper will be electrically hot thus it should be installed so as not to short against ground.
Note: The position of this relay changes from one year to the next. Consult relay location chart on inside of relay box cover.
2. Install ground wire from the B11 orange wire with black stripe to a switch or relay such that the ground source can be turned on and off. The B11 wire is located in the middle computer connector located on the firewall behind the air cleaner.

If you forget to turn off the switch when coming to a stop will it cause any damage?

Youll KNOW you forgot to shut it off.... The truck starts to chug! Because the trans and engine are locked together. I actually thought about making a little box that used a latching relay circuit so if the brake pedal is pressed it disengages the switch. A push of the button would lock it back in again.

After a while turning it on and off is like second nature, like looking in your mirrors.

Ok, Thanks for the info. I think the automatic controllers will shift down while locked up to help with braking. Not sure what I'm going to do yet....looking at all options. Still would like to hear from anyone who has used the co-pilot or TS performance controller.

We did the same simple switch, works fine. If you forget to switch it off the truck will buck and shutter, either flip the switch or put it in neutral.

It does become second nature, it did for me anyway.

Completely understandable! I cant answer that question but it would be nice to know! Would make it nice for towing if it downshifted early while locking the TC! Save them damn front brakes too!
