Hey I fully understand. It sucks to have someone tell you that your trucks to loud but dont be a jerk yourself. If your trucks got stacks and no muffler then we can all agree that its really LOUD. And I'm sure your landlord is suffering from complaints from other tenants who dont care to hear you idle your truck or romp on the throttle while they watch TV, sleep, or just enjoy their evening. No one stacks their truck unless they love the noise and for everyone else to hear it too. So.....all I'm saying is that you are the one who chose to live where you are and its not your property. You're a tenant so compromise. Tell him that you will try to limit its running time and noise as best you can and see if that helps. But dont put the landlord in a position where he could possibly loose other tenants because of your truck. If you think that wont grant him any power in court then you're mistaken. And depending on where you live, you may be violating noise jurisdictions too.

And dont get me wrong either. I'm not jumping down your throat but simply trying to help you out of a potential situation as a fellow Cummins owner. I'm also a landlord and I know the laws (here). I've been in court more than a few times and yes, judges (depending on area) are more understanding to a tenants financial problems but definitely not if the tenant is simply stupid or is being intentionally disruptive. Hope you get it worked out.

I put a flow through muffler on it and I told him that I never use and throttle comming in or leaving for that reason and turbo cooling. He understands that I cant change the fact that its a cummins and they just make noise but we worked it out. Tanks though!

I have had several diesel trucks over the years, my 02 cummin is by far the best sounding and loudest yet IMO. My neighbour is 70 something lil ole lady and was not a fan of the 4am warm up to head out to the rig. But once the snow came and I fired up my john deere diesel and blew out here driveway all was forgiven, even got an apple pie outta the deal. So just saying there is always more than one way to skin a cat hahaha.
