Default Turbo Question

I just installed my new turbo, and I got a few concerns

1. When I removed the turbo from the box the turbine didnt spin as free as I figured it should.

2. My egts have gone up

3. my boost seems a little too low

I did pre oil the turbo, and changed the oil in the engine. I checked all connections but will double check

Is it possile the new bearin just needs to be broken in?

I highly doubt it. It should be free spinning and good to out of the box. I'd contact the distributor and tell them whats going on. They may suggest running it longer to see if things improve, but at least they know the situation.

Its an Industrial Injection Phat Shaft 62/65/14.

When I say it doesnt spin as free, I dont mean it binding, it just slows down pretty quickly, like there is drag on it. With a pretty good spin, i would say I was gettin between 5-10 revs.

It should take about 400 miles to get broke in well and the bearings to loosen up!!!!!! My turbo was pretty tight when i got it

How are your egt's with the box turned up? same with boost. How are your WOT egt's compared to your old turbo. Its possible that you maybe under-fueled.

Keep in mind a good turbo is more efficient so your boost numbers will be lower than with the stock turbo. The new turbo will have a much closer 1:1 drive pressure ratio.
