Default my free boost

So I was at a wedding and was talking to my father in laws friend who is a diesel mechanic about our trucks and what I had done. I told him everything in my description and he told me to get a few more pounds boost to shorten the shaft on the turbo blow off. So I got out my spare turbo someone gave me and played with it figured out how to do it without taking it off. I just backed off the nut and put a pair of vice grips on the rod and cranked for awhile till I had it tighter. The results 30-31 pounds of boost and WOT instead of 28-29 I was getting quicker spooling less black smoke and probably 150 degrees cooler cruising at 65. I was running close to 800 degrees now it's around 600 maybe a hair more. The whole time I was testing I barely got it over 1000 degrees used to hit 1200 pullin hard easy
I am very happy with the results truck is way more responsive can't wait to haul wood this weekend see how it does.
So is there anything bad that can come from this? turbo sounds a little different

Pinch of your wastegate line and you could probably get about 35ish.

I'm glad your happy with the results your getting. Kinda risky just twisting on the shaft. There is a strong chance of tearing the diaphragm in the W/G pot. Sounds like you didn't, congrats on that. Try pinching off the hose, you'll get more.

I have an adjustable boost elbow down all the way isn't that the same as pinching it off? but I'll throw a pair of vice grips on later to see if it makes a difference.
