What is the number for the CAT air filter that slips on the end of the air intake?

It's called a Big Honking Air Filter (BHAF). You should be able to find more info on it here somewhere.

I gotta say, I love mine. I made a cold air intake for it out of some scraps of aluminum and some pop rivets, but you don't really need one. The BHAF will just sit where the factory air box was.

While your in there, you might want to remove the silencer from the turbo inlet. It'll make a nice whistling sound then.

Has anyone had any problems with their BHAF getting water and mud caked on it? I just switched from an oiled K&N to a BHAF and when i took the K&N cold air dam out, i noticed that it had been splashed with mud and water over time.

I put one of those water resistant covers over mine from outerwear. It's like a water resistant sock that slides over the paper filter element and keeps big chunks of mud and water from clogging the filter. Also, there is a version of these filters that's made for marine enviornments and the actual filter is water resistant
