I have had mine on since I wrote that thread, December 29, 2009, and have had no problems at all. I did solder my eyelit to the wire from my Edge, you just can't see it with the heat shrink over it. I did not clamp mine between two nuts, just between the stealth plate, and one nut. I held the tapping screw while tightening the nut to prevent over tapping.
You could clamp it between two nuts, or use blue Loc-Tite on the threads to hold the nut in place. There is a possibility that the Loc-Tite will add resistance to your connection though.
Best of luck with a solution.
