A Programmer or a Box will help for sure. Are you running any gauges? Sounds like you may be running on low fuel pressure this can cause bad mileage, loss of power and will kill an $1000+ VP44 injection pump.

never heard of an air tex lift pump. but you need to make sure it will push enough fuel to support a programmer or box. I have a Bd Diesel lift pump that says it will support up to 600 hp, but cannot meet the fuel requirements of a box or programmer. Air Dog, Fass, and Raptor are the 3 big fuel systems most ppl run. The give you the fuel you need for the box and save you VP44 which as luke stated will cost you 1000 if it goes bad. and thats not something you want to happen.

I ran an Airtex on my 01 with the Vulcan relocation kit. Made 18psi @ idle and stayed right at 10psi with the Edge on Hot. It is a better than stock setup for the money but if your going to do injectors and a box then I would at the least get a Raptor 150 or Fass HPFP 150.
