Question Programmers, Foolers, Mods, what's the best for the buck?

Hey guys, been a few months since I have been on, and I wanting to go over some issues I am having and see what I could change, or not change. First off the run down: 01' Dodge 4x4 non CR auto. So far I have lifted it 5.5inches, running 35's, got Silverline Black stainless 5" stacks<duals>, Edge Juice w/Attitude, Bosch 300hp injectors, ATS High Arc Air intake, ATS 3pc exhaust manifold, K&N Cold air intake and that's where I stop. I am interested and have been reading about the Quadzilla Boost Fooler, how it lowers EGT's and can add about 10 hps, to semi stock cummins. Is this worth it, and what's this about modifying the wastegate on 98.5-04' Cummins? I just want to know, have I bought the best bolt on's for the buck? Will the Boost Fooler be worth it and will I notice anything? And something else, do I need to completely buy a new beefy tranny or can I modify<rebuild> the one I have <47re> by way of torque convertor and maybe a valve job cheap enough to still get more rwhp transfer? IM REALLY limited on funds, and without going in the hole<Credit Card>, I wanna know what I can do as a shade tree mech to make things better. I notice power and smoke, but is that all I got ya know. First ever Diesel drags in my area in 2 wks and would like to compete, not just show up and blow coal! Looking for low 15's, high 16's at the track. HELPPPPPP PLEASE

Your Edge Juice with Attitude already has a built in Boost Fooler.

You could do a Triple Disc Converter and Valve Body. Then down the road do a rebuild. Just depends on the current condition of your transmission.

Luke, Thanks, I was unaware of the Boost Fooler already installed, guess I need to look at the Juice more in depth and see what I got there. Any recommendations like settings and such for the upcoming drags I plan to run in? Any other mods you may also suggest for a resonable price? Thanks again

Oh ya, I forgot the most important 2 mods I did recently...Sorry head's not all here, still foggy from the lake and the cold beer. Anyhow I also got the FASS 95 and a VP44 HO from a 6spd Cummins installed...IF those matter or not, but I can tell the fuel volume is up there for sure.

You can't run a HO pump on a SO engine.

Luke, maybe I was tricked when I bought it, but at the Dodge dealership I had the pump replaced with, the mechanic personally informed me that he ordered and installed the Injection pump that would otherwise be installed on a 6sp, that is a higher volume pump due to price and effeciency. Now unless Im a complete retard and sap, that is what took place. Something like $3,000.00 vs $2,200.00. And I did notice difference in the way it performed. More snap, and response, so you tell me...Still think its not possible?

of course you notice better response your pump was probably going out, along with the fass system you do feel that. I would say you have a so pump but in the end it will make more power an ho pump is only good for 500hp. If your planning on racing the truck you will want to have your trans built. Billet in and output shafts, more clutches, converter and valve body. At the track for now run your edge on 5x5 or 6x5 if you bought hot unlock and hit enter twice on your monitor turn the back downs off before you run or it will defuel on you. You should be able to hit low low 15's if not upper 14's. I did 15.06 with just the edge juice and a fass. Don't boost much off the line. Like 8-12psi or you have a chance of breaking your stock trans.

Convertor and valve body should handle a little more power than you currently have. Next mod? Add a dry nitrous kit as you are probably smoking like crazy with 300 injectors and need to utilise all that fuel. You could get one for around 200 bucks. BTW get the hot upgrade - over the phone from EDGE - and you will really notice the difference. BTW I agree with 01quadcab - be soft off the line or you'll be breaking shafts in the tranny especially with your big tires.

Guys, I thank you alot. Did a quick test on a flat part of the highway here in KS, 0-60 time was like 10.5, and 1/4 mile time said 17.8 at 78mphs, granted I hadnt read the stuff you all posted and now think that had I done so prior, I might have gotten better results. I will try the hot unlock, and the tap twice on the button to keep from defueling, that would explain why it seems to stutter when accelarating quickly. The trans will have to wait until I get some more money saved, but definetly on a top to do list for sure. Wish me luck......

Just checked 0-60 time, dropped a half sec to a 10.0 flat, but added time in 1/4 mile to 18.0 at 77mph. Put it on 5 <extreme> and tapped twice and set valve back down to 0, but don't think it mattered or I didn't set it right??? Of course now I got a check engine light, hope its nothing. Every other time its a P1698 code that goes off in a couple days...

Just a bit of info.
The 24v's didn't become CR's until 2003. You have a VP44 24valve. 98.5-2002. That's the only way the came.
