Unless your lookin for a competion rig, I don't think you can beat the 275's for anywhere near the price.

I don't have any heat problems with my set up. The stock turbo has served me well. I keep thinkin about a bigger one, but with that comes the bigger lag times also and that thought don't turn me on.

i have a hy and it get crazy hot in a 1/8 mile. i was thinkin that the pdr 35 would be ok but with the phat shaft 62/12 i figure that it would cool a lot better and i could stay under 1500* for at least half the 1/4. anyone have one of these turbo's with i want to know egt's. the other day i pulled a 30ft goose neck with about 40000lbs in it and all i could do was 3x1 and run 70 and that was it. i would like to run the 100hp injectors and not have to worry about egt's, and i dont know if the hx35 would cool good but have a good feelin the 62 would be my best bet but the price is the limiting factor. thanks for the repiles guys

If your runnin 40,000 pounds behind your truck at 70 mph, in one of these trucks I hope I'm never in front of you rollin down the highway.

Hittin 1500 degrees in the quarter mile tells me you got a problem someplace, theres not that big of difference between the HX and Hy turbos I don't think and my truck never goes over 1100 even when I hammer the hell out of it.

My personal experiance though haulin trailers is that when I hook up a heavy trailer, I turn the Fueling box off. It's for play, speed and smoke when you want it but deffinately not for pullin. For pullin and low end torque you need the Smarty.

Just a few of my thoughts on it all.

4000 is what i ment, a few to many 0's in there. you make a good point but towing and pulin trailers doesnt happen much sence i am in college, and i am in it more for the racing and longevity. my goal for now is 400hp and i figure that it will get me there and i am mainly lookin for a turbo that will supoort that with out breaking the bank, but thanks for the replys and any more ideas are welcome!!

I feel better now, you had me scared to be on the roads there for a while. Check into BD's vendor area here. He made some points about his turbo's here recently and was offering special prices to members here. I can't tell you much about any turbo's myself. They always been to expensive for my budget and the trade off of lag time versus extra power just didn't make it worth it for my purposes.

The two things that made big differences in my EGT's were the new exhaust and the Megamouth elbow coming off the back of the turbo. Those two things accounted for a few hundred degree differences. I also got some improvement when I reset the APPS. Mine was quite a bit out of whack and it drained a lot of power.

how much boost can you run? the most i can get this hy to get is 21psi i have had a turnbuckle on the wastegate to build more boost and it toped out at 28psi which is toppin the turbo, but at that point it starts pushin more hot air than cool. and i can find a hx and upgrade to that to help out a little, and do you have the hx35?
