I see where some trucks have the EDGE module, I thought it had gauges with it???? do you uses these chips with the twin turbos and such?
Ok! With $5k your not going to get to the hp you want. For that kinda of power your going to need to upgrade your tranny. Your $5k was just spent.

I would recommend these items 1st, in this order: gauges (boost,EGT,trans & fuel pressure), 4'in exhaust, cold air intake (AFE, Airaid, S&B, etc.) or (BHAF (big honkin air filter) Napa pt# 2790), fuel system upgrade ( i would recommend the FASS II), Edge Comp (It's has 5 different levels, I wouldn't run it above setting 3 until the trans is upgraded) (OOPS I forgot about the Smarty! Scratch the edge and get the Smarty), & 100hp injectors. These items are going to give you an awesome, reliable towing set up, lots of power with room to upgrade.

P.S. Sweet Jeep!

you can try running the stock turbo and the extra fuel and then install a W/M injection. this will cool things down some.

i see that as an intermediate step because 5 large can easily be spent on a DTT tranny or would be a good start on a set of twins but not both.

im a firm beliver (but sadly not always practicer(is that a word?)) in buying something to handel the power or more power than you plan on making and fist step is the trans and fuel system on these trucks sadly 5k can very easily be spent in that but after that you have plenty of room to gro and grow safely as long as you do it corectly, say add more fuel add more air, dont go all out on fuel and not have the air to handel it it can result in a blown up turbo (i did beat that powerstroke though) however going all air first is safer however you need to worry about making to much boost and blowing a head gasket so studs and orings come into the picture. however with both air and fuel you will be noting but happy it just needs to be added porpotioatly the stock charger is ok for about 35 psi i maybe 350 hp you can get more out of it but reliability becomes an issue. and the edge chip is a great chip, there are also other great chips out there but that alone is a big dicussion all do basicaly do the same thing and all are similar in quailty some like other better its all personal preferance...... wow that was more or less ramled but i hope it helps

Your sayin it might have marine injectors here, is this a 12 Valve or 24 Valve engine.

I ran a similar set-up on my 02 and the EGTs were manageable. I also had the HX35 vs the HY35. I don't think there's that much of a difference???

Yes, the Marine Injectors are 370s - JD140h3, you wont find these injectors on a '99 24V

I'm just wondering if this is one of the oddball 98.5 12V. That would make a complete difference in all these responses.
