Default Strait pipe or muffler

Hey guys wantin a little advice here on what to do. Im thinking of taking my muffler off and straight piping it. My truck has 4" turbo back exhaust (aftermarket not sure of brand) with a 5" tip. My question is.. is it going to do anything perf wise and how much louder will it be not too worried about the loudness i do like em louder but not sure if i want it loud all the time. like going down the road at cruise. I drive 20mi to work one way every day at hwy speeds 65-70mph. So if any of you guys have any thoughts on this let me know what you think to do what would be better. Leave it alone or straight pipe it????

I have had stacks on my truck now for about 6 months, straight piped. Even still I can cruise down the highway at 70-80 and just barely hear any engine noise... There is some, but its not horrible(back seat is a little different though). A lot of people have straight pipe coming out the back of the truck, and its not really too big of a deal. I had mine straight piped before getting the stacks and going down the highway the only way I could hear anything is with the windows down or if I drive up next to an object.

Straight pipe... It'll drop the EGTs a little and noise wise, its only a little louder than a 4" with muffler. I think it sounds better straigh piped especially once your in the powerband. As for freeway driving, its not really noticable over the stereo and with the stereo off, its a slight drone but not real annoying

straight pipe! no question! mufflers are way to quiet and besides with you running the exhaust out the back it will have a real nice tone but not that loud in the cab!

I'm straight piping mine as soon as I can afford it. My Dad's GM 6.2 is louder than my truck.
