Yea I would definatly do it. What size exhaust do you have? If all that you are doing is putting a piece in place of the muffler it is really cheap. I had 4" all the way back so all that I had to do is buy a piece of 4" pipe about 3' and have it swedged on one end cost all of $10 so depending on your situation it is relatively expensive.

onyl way to find out is to do it!!! i say leave the muffler on, but its up to you. technically, you dont need it b/c any turbo'd vehicle doesnt need one, as the turbo acts as one..

I jsut did mine this passed weekend and I was how cheap it was to do. I bought the downpipe localy and the 4in pipe from the same place and ordered the tail pipe from jegs for 65 bucks to my door. total about 200-230 bucks!!!! made my own 5in tip and loved it ever since then. the people next door hate it, that make it that much better.

Right now on my '06, I have the cat out with a MBRP muffler on the stock 4" pipe to the back- it's too quiet- sounds better than stock (more deep) but wasn't worth the money.
I've been looking at FBD's and RSD's straight 5" turbo-back but I'm not ready to spend $300 dollars on that yet, so I'm going to try straight-piping the stock 4" this week and see from there. It should hold me over til I can spend $300 on 5" pipe later on, at least.
