I have had A Smarty, Quadzilla Adrenaline and Pulse, Edge Comp, Edge EZ, MAD Catcher ECM x3 and i just bought an Edge Juice with Attitude for my brother and will be installing it soon .

And for my set up ...

Edge Comps would only last up to 3 months before they fried or needed replaced (for free)
the Smarty made me lose Cruise control and made my tranny shift in ways i didnt like , it fueled to hard
Edge EZ ...is this thing on?
Catcher ECM , welcome to sideways in the road and heading for the ditch... shifting up to 3rd gear going less than 30 MPH it was primed and ready to raise hell even when you didnt want it to , think 2 stroke ....cant go slow WOT or nothing
I have a Adreniline now and its by far far far the smoothest power adder ive ever had , it works good with my tranny set up and turbo and injectors , i love it
i got a cant pass up deal on the edge , it will be on a 6 speed , i can see where all the programmers boxes and ecms would be fine on a 6 speed because you have more control of it so i really cant give it a fair review even after the install, every truck is different beleave it or not and once you start chnaging turbos and injectors your truck changes a lot and what once was the missing piece of the puzzle no longer fits ! keep this in mind.

Nothing is good for a stock auto trans... And I mean nothing.

Any chip will kill your trans sooner or later. A 65hp ship, like an Edge EZ, or a Smarty, will make it last a little longer, but a Juice or something like it will blow it up in minutes. Lift pump is a must have, otherwise you'll wreck the VP44 in minutes as well.

The absolute best chip from what I know is the Blue Chip box... Its basically a wholenew fuel computer that lets you do exactly what you want.

Will the Blue Chip box save my tranny? And is there anything besides replacing the tranny that can help save it?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I'm really just looking to spend about $1800 - $2000 all together, so what would you guys recommend me doing?

no box is going to save your tranny , unless it contains a fully built Billet sun coast

if your tranny is slipping , dont even look for power adders , fix your tranny , get a Torque converter and a TFOD shiftkit for your valve body

Diesel Performance is not instant gratification with out regrets !

the only thing that will prolong a life of a stock tranny is a good TC

Im pretty sure that a stock engine can kill a stock auto if driven right

Best thing to do in you situation is to put the $2000 in a high interst savings, and when you have the money, build a tranny and then buy a chip/programmer

agreed, put that money back, save up and get you a built auto before trying out a box. Ive ran the adrenaline, edge juice w/ attitude and right now im running the TST powermax3 and its awesome on my truck, however, itll kill an auto pretty quick, most boxes will. if you want something small and barely noticeable, there is a 45 hp recalibration program out there directly from cummins for 24v trucks, it works really well and it is very cheap to put on, provided you find someone with it and a labtop, its easy
