Sounds like a rev limiter
Okay so the other day i was driving and the truck started popping like a 4 cyl at rev limiter. I was starting off getting into the throttle and it started doing it. I tryed to get more throttle in it but it just keep doing it. So i backed out and it stopped. It reminded me of losing an injector when i was running an 8v92 driptroit. Anyone have any ideas?

I re-programed my quad and i noticed the idle smothed out so it makes me think that its my Quad box.

Well it's possibly and injection pump failure or low supply fuel pressure or volume.
With that said, Electronics can cause this problem. If your truck's been programmed with a smarty, It will actully do this after a few minutes of idle when cold (if the IAT sensor is correct it would be below 40F IIRC, Although sometimes they show incorrect intake tempetures!)
I'll be glad to walk you through getting it fixed up! Feel free to give me a call at anytime! We're here to earn your business!
