Default Smarty chip

Hey guys my buddy has an 01 with about 150k on it. All stock except he has a a stack. He is looking to get gauges and a smarty chip. Now my brother has a 12v so he isnt sure but he said dodge trans arent the best. So I am wondering what trans mods if any my buddy should get if he gets the smarty chip? Thanks guys

he would be much happier with an edge juice or a quad adrenaline as they both have gauges and add more power than the smarty. No matter what he does the trans will need some help. If the trans is still the original save up and buy a nice built one and be done with it

He will like a edge or a adrenaline much betterAs for a trans he is right (junk)depends on what he wants to do in the furture for his truck, I dont want to steer him down the wrong road.Injectors, big single turbo, twin turbo, cam, fuel system , What does he want to do to his truck.

Im not sure all he really said for right now was the chip and gauges. I did a diy intake on my powerstroke and my brother did one on his 12v and my 2 other buddies did one on their 24v and now I think he is gonna do a diy for now too. Otherwise besides the chip, idk what he plans to do. I will pass that on about the edge. Not sure about the dodge edge but I know that the edge for my ford I was told does not help the trans at all. I told him if all hes doing is a chip a nice torque converter would probably do the trick all hell need. What do you guys think? Im not a dodge veteran haha

The stock trans can be touchy. It is by far the worst of the big 3.

Any added power runs the risk of trans damage. The Smarty does all it's fueling at a more aggressive rate than the other boxes. This adds up to disaster with most stock autos. As these are a pressure based 727, 618, 518 dare I date myself? 500 design. So, speed and throttle position matter. If you fuel too hard with little throttle, it'll just flat kill the trans.

If he only wants the same power as the Smarty, just leave the fueling wire off the ADR or Comp/ Juice. Problem solved. And with these boxes you can get the gauges built in. However, we sell tons and tons of analog gauges. In fact, we supply many vendors in the diesel market.

From the Smarty website:

"Non-Defective Items: All non-defective returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee. Shipping charges paid by you are not refundable. If we paid to ship the item to you (whether fully or partially), our original shipping cost will be deducted from your refund."

So it's 100% refund less the original shipping and another 20% restocking fee? That's like 30% to send it back, plus the shipping to get it back to you! So the customer gets a full refund as long as they consider a full refund about 68% of the original purchase price??

Funny thing about gambling, the house always wins.
