Default Not impressed!

Well I worked on the truck yesterday and put the throttle position sensor on, a different steering column, and I tried a smarty box on the truck and I wiil say that I wasn't impressed with the way it ran. The truck had good take off but nothing to get worked up over. It would smoke like a bitch at take off but instantly clear up no smoke, good power but no smoke. I think it had more with the comp box alone. We had the smarty on 9 and the comp on 1- 5 setting when trying it out. I would like to hear what you guys think.

It depends on what tune you have on the smarty....Is it possible you had the latest download, which was designed to reduce the smoke? It doesnt look as cool losing some smoke...but at least you know your Turbo is doing its job Its just a thought...

I smart man can have both....kinda like having your cake and eating it too. Besides, Power alone wont give the hippies "Black Lung" when you pass them.

Check out STAXmotorsports on Youtube. James' burnout at the 2008 NADP Blackout is what i am talking about. A good combination of burn rubber, and UN-burnt fuel. Melted rubber on the road isnt carcenogenic enough... Im just razzin you fellas...lighten up.

Well it is a new smarty box so it probably does have the latest updates. I am just trying it out thats all. It did clear all the codes I had whitch was nice. The throttle was just really touchy and I thought it had more top end with the comp alone.

A smart man can clear up all that extra fuel with a bigger better turbo and have even more power.

for one, if you have a comp box on it the smarty should only be on level 8.
there have been some say that stacking the smarty with compboxes might lose a little on the top end, but others say it gives it more.
the smarty aint a great big programmerfor the second gens any how, but like you said, the throttle response is unreal with them.
just my 2 cents for the day
